The Promise Gardens is a dream for couples who love bold blooms, vibrant gardens, and an elegant countryside aesthetic. As a wedding planner, one of my favorite things about this venue is how cohesive and convenient the event flow can be — with ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces all located on the property and within easy walking distance.
There are a few important logistics to note when planning a wedding here. First, The Promise Gardens requires you to work with a wedding planner or day-of coordinator from their preferred vendor list — a huge plus in my opinion, as it ensures you’ll have someone familiar with the property and its policies to guide the day seamlessly.
Another detail to keep in mind is timing. All guests must be off the property by 10:00 PM, so if you’re envisioning a late-night party, you’ll want to plan accordingly. Also, while the venue delivers beautifully on ceremony and reception spaces, it doesn’t offer on-site getting-ready areas, so arranging a separate location for prep time is a must.
A standout feature? The gardens. If you’re a flower lover, this is the spot — lush hydrangeas and seasonal florals bloom across the property, creating stunning backdrops around every corner. And their newly built white barn brings a fresh, timeless feel to the reception space that’s hard to beat.
Hire a wedding planner early—especially one familiar with the venue. The Promise Gardens requires all couples to work with a professional wedding planner, and for good reason. The property is expansive and logistically unique, and the team there prioritizes smooth coordination. Be sure to hire a planner who is already on their preferred vendor list so the planning process is efficient and stress-free from day one.
Secure reliable transportation that knows the layout. Transportation logistics are taken very seriously at this venue. To avoid any confusion or delays, we highly recommend booking a company that’s already familiar with the flow and rules of the property. It makes a major difference in guest experience and overall timeline execution.
Say “I do” in their garden ceremony space. If you’re looking for a breathtaking backdrop, their outdoor ceremony location is it. Framed by lush gardens and overflowing floral borders, it’s one of the most picturesque spots to exchange vows. We always recommend utilizing it—especially if you’re leaning into a romantic or nature-inspired aesthetic.
Make after-party plans in advance. The Promise Gardens has an earlier end time compared to some other venues, so if you want to keep the celebration going, plan ahead for an after-party. Whether it’s at a local bar or back at a nearby hotel with a private lounge space, it keeps the momentum going for guests who aren’t ready to call it a night.
Spend the full day onsite—it’s worth it. From getting ready to golden hour portraits, The Promise Gardens truly shines at every stage of the day. We suggest asking Terri about renting the onsite barn for your wedding morning preparations. It’s bright, spacious, and absolutely beautiful for photos—and having everything in one location helps the day feel more relaxed and cohesive.
Natalie and Kurt’s wedding at The Promise Gardens was a vibrant, joy-filled celebration that embraced the beauty of the venue at every turn. Natalie spent the morning getting ready onsite in the venue’s charming barn, where the natural light made for stunning photos with her bridal party. A special appearance by the couple’s dog—coordinated with the help of local wedding dog-sitting service, Spotted Snout—added a personal and heartwarming touch to their portraits. The design of the day was full of color and whimsy, with bold floral arrangements, soft pink bridesmaid dresses, and curated details that perfectly complemented the garden surroundings. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour outdoors beside the white barn, giving them a chance to take in the grounds before the grand entrance into the reception space. It was a seamless transition that created a wow moment and set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and the result was a celebration that felt effortless, romantic, and uniquely theirs.
